  1. I am good with the thicker bottom ... for the most part your eyes wont see it, I think? I would assume your eyes would see the smaller inner pieces and then the 5" top and trick your mind into thinking the bottom is the same? Either way, thats some great looking wood there though! Will look amazing!!
  2. this should look awesome! the doors on the top should help as well .. Cant wait to see this come together!
  3. beautiful work! Cant imagine building that, but everything looks great. Although, Red Gum ... figured it would be more ... red ?? Pretty wood though!
  4. a Kev project that is painted? you monster!! Where is the walnut live edge spice rack, sliding DT rails for the pullouts and just generally overbuilt in amazing fashion? Its like we dont even know you anymore. ? Either way, excited to watch the build though! Fun little project!
  5. very cool ! Cant wait to see it finished up and in use. I was curious when clicking on this if I was coming into a Katz-Moses sharpening setup. Cool to see different ideas though and flex seal is a crazy product ... who wants to build a canoe out of a flexseal base haha
  6. Drawing out with blue tape and their different sizes is a great idea! for the most part, the bottom will be filled with all my different screws with different lengths. thanks. I’m kinda liking sketchup just need to play with it more. I was using the browser version of it. Is that what you use? Some very good uses for these! Will definitely have to keep that in mind.
  7. for whatever reason I got the urge to try and use sketchup, no idea why, but figured why not since I am at home and my main computer is looking at me in the face and its a real slow day at work. got the very basic drawn up in there though, which helped me figure out how to use some basic features in there and it was terrible. Still have some issues I am trying to work through though that I dont hit in old school CAD. So I was thinking left side would be storage for my Milwaukee install drill then the bottom and maybe some of the middle row would be storage bins for screws and random things like below. Top row, who knows, but more storage for something ... Overall pretty basic, but I think it would get with storing a lot of the random small things laying around.
  8. Lol!! 0? I guess we found a new error in the forums. The warning points don’t add to your profile ?
  9. Thanks guys!! yes it really made a difference with how the room looks and ‘management’ really likes it so win win haha
  10. Also ... the corners fitting snug with the rounded back.
  11. Everything installed!! I’m super happy with how this made the room look and for such a simple project. Before ... during install .... finished ...
  12. Ya my outfeed hits the power cord it seems .. have not messed with it much to see if I can keep it up.
  13. Wish mine came that way. One was way off and needed adjusting. So figured I would tinker with them both.
  14. Lol!! I was looking at that ... got the tables installed. Quite a pain in the @$$ to get setup by myself. infeed outfeed good? Or still need more adjusting?
  15. First coat of ARS... was reading the can .. @Kev do you really wait 72 hours before applying the waterborne spray finish? Seems a bit much haha. (Also don’t expect an answer until you get back around bud)
  16. haha, ya they have been in my cart for like a year ? ... just never pulled the trigger
  17. Thanks for the input guys! Guess I’ll pick them up
  18. Lol!! Where’s the fun in that! Up next in the shop I am thinking 2 shelf units on the counter top ... not sure what all I should store there minus smaller things. gonna add a spot for sand paper and screws and stuff. Not sure what else I should be looking to put or store up here. right side: left side: measurements: ive been searching through google images to get ideas too. What are some of y’all favorites?
  19. curious if anyone has these and do they help? I don’t have an issue with snipe as I catch them on the back pull them up a tad so it doesn’t catch. just curious if it helps you handle the wood easier ... 20. ya I was thinking about that ... not sure how good shoe mold would look on a bench ... plus the walls are not flat with the shiplap, so that seems like it would be a bigger mess than I want to deal with
  21. Well this was fun. Super tight area to work in ... had to take electrical outlet off to be able to slide in there ... working on my scribing skills ... fun times with a belt sander
  22. That’s a great looking drawer! maybe next time I’ll try half blind dovetails my jig can do that
  23. These ... well on the sides ? although the finger notch I think turned out great .. although gotta do it again
  24. dont look too closely at it ? The drawer front will need to be remade haha ... Although for now, I did install it just to make sure everything fit right and all that ... so far so good, minus the brain fart on the front
