  1. This is pretty much my M.O. I think Coop is correct, their marking is just to get you close to the center.

    HVLP Sprayers

Well, that there is a shop project how can you fight that? Its for the kitchen so she will surely want to give the shop time to get them done. Seems like a win, win. And of course it will be a lot faster being able to spray the finish.
  3. I don't think it is always a knowledge level thing. I think it is more a matter of what you have been exposed to. If a fellow quilter say I got this at Koala then that is where you head to look for the same thing. But then maybe someone else says I commissioned a cabinet maker or furniture make to make mine, they added this and made that better and the whole thing is made from hardwood and cost less, Well now the person is getting an education that makes think and has them look at options. If they find out that even where they live they can get it better and cheaper through a commission but still go to Koala well then maybe we need to wonder about their knowledge level.
  4. There is something going on with editing right now and Kev has been looking into it but it is taking time given the little time he has in he evening.
  5. Maybe to start with you need to do one starting over and one from 4000 and up, using two that are close in size for the test.
  6. I guess I just enjoy the pencil and eraser thing. I took three years of drafting in high school and still enjoy the process.
  7. I am the same but I have a big eraser in my kit also. I can see where sketch up can be nice especially for people like Kev or Marc or any number of people that are doing this not just for themselves put for viewers. It can make their work more precise and organized in the shop.
  8. We may be of no help because we don't know how your work flow goes. Bottom line is you will probably put things in what you think is an ideal place and then end up moving them again and again. Until you put stuff away and then work in the shop for awhile you won't know if it is a good or bad spot for things.
  9. I don't know if this was the case with Kev but it can be pretty common to build face frames first and then make the case to fit the frame. This is especially true when the case will end up between two walls. You make the face frame fit it between the two wall then you use the fitted face frame as a template of sorts. If the face frame fits the case will too.
  10. Tell her as soon as she cleans her room and puts away all her toys. ? We remodeled our master bedroom back in 2012 and at that time we looked at that style rod but in the end we went with the regular ones for no particular reason.
  11. The video was posted by a member but the person that made the video is not on this forum. To answer your question, more top to the lefty would help also some type of leg support on the underside of the right side. He built the jig in 2018 so I wouldn't be surprised to find out that he has made some changes to it. And welcome to the forums Kenlip.
  12. Yea, I don't criticize anybody wanting to make their own but I would have to be pretty bored before that would show up on my list of things to do. Even a retired person would have t out a time value on it.?
  13. I don't think Christmas would be the same for me if I didn't have Horseradish for my Prime Rib. Sent you my address Jamie... Thanks
  14. Yea, by the time I did all that, I would have forgotten what I was going to do with the tool in the first place.
  15. I am always within my budget because I buy tools vicariously.

    Search

I wouldn't want a saw blade or even a logo of a saw blade anywhere near that area of my body.
  17. The video below is a guy talking from the hospital bed about an accident that took his fingers on one hand. The video is not graphic but he tells you exactly what happened.

    Jointer Knives

Byrd's are $469 for an 8 inch. Thats the only brand I looked at because that was enough information to tell me the search was over. ?
  20. When you get one you will never look back. Things are coming along though.

Yea Spanky that would be my first choice but I just don't have the money for that at this point. The little gig that I have that creates disposable money for tools is dead right know with the shut down. Yea that is the company I have been looking at Ken.

    Jointer Knives

Thats the same reason I am replacing and not having them sharpened. My same sharpening guy is real reasonable with saw blade sharpening prices but it didn't make sense to pay to have the jointer knives done. Some of the reviews I read said something along those lines.

    Jointer Knives

Bryan this is a good idea, I think I might do that. I was hoping to have the dough to by a helix head by the time I had to replace the original blades.

I don't know how it happened but the first inch or so, closest to the fence looks like the blade on a scotch tape dispenser. Last project was the morris chair and I know I would have seen that if it were there during that time. Then a couple of weeks ago I went to mill a piece of oak for my neighbor, my wood but I was milling it up for him. When I made the first pass there was about nine parallel grooves down the length of the piece. Each groove was about 1/32 wide. Looked at the jointer blades and the blade was damaged with that pattern. I have had the machine for two and a half years now.
