  1. If you make this top 4 inches thick with the measurements above, that 64 Bd Ft right there. If you legs are something like 36 tall and 4 x 6 thats another 24 Bd Ft. Thats 88 Bd Ft an you still need your stretchers and shelving and chop for the vise. Seems like the 93 Bd Ft before your 20% might be kind of tight.

Real frustration is they usually have good tools at a real affordable price. Especially when you have a young family and you are trying to be wise with your shop dollars. A lot of the other companies don't have anything near this price point.
  6. That sounds like an interesting place to visit. I enjoy history like that. But Ken, I thought you said that you were going to use the shirts as seat covers in the new truck.
  7. That is a real nice design, with the adjustability that give you some holding power. I will probably borrow some of this idea. Cigar in the background of the photo, nice touch.
  8. Just a point of interest. On my last two shop furniture projects, the Festool storage cabinet that my planer sits on and my under the table saw storage, I have done away with castors. I just finally decided that they don't get moved enough, if at all, to warrant the expense of quality castors.
  9. Well, hopefully there will be sweat. ?
  10. Nice use of the resources at hand. I think I would finish the top along with everything else. Sweat and moisture will eventually cause some problems with the ply.

    Jointer Knives

I finally got around to changing out the blades yesterday on the jointer. My first impressions of the Infinity blades are good. the lumber seems to come off with a nicer finish the the OEM blades. I could probably do this 3 times faster next time know that I know what PM actually meant in the instructions. Part of the problem was that one of the diagrams didn't print properly. But knowing what I know now, the process for changing to the HH would be faster then this was.

  13. epoxy won't show with stain, you could even do it with CA glue unless you have a lot.

Two real important words to keep in mind regarding the shop. I don't know if you ordered the same model as Kev but there is a review he did of his in the review section. I don't recall if he covered out feed. On thing to remember is that if you need out feed support, you need it on both sides. You want to be able to slide your work to the other end to do the other mortise like in a frame and panel. If you flip you work end for end you can end up not having the two mortises centered and even if it is off by just a few thou, by the time you do this at four corners you can end up with a pretty wonky frame and panel.

That would certainly brighten Grizzly's day when that box arrived. Who wouldn't smile upon seeing that art work.

I've been lucky in that way because I am one of those people that as soon as something is set up I cut up and dispose of all the boxes and packing material.

Just curious, what is the resew capacity without the riser block? I know some people have added them to this model but I also know that it can stress the frame of the saw. On my Laguna it is 13 inches and I don't think I have ever resawn anything over 8 inches mainly because there hasn't been a need and I don't find much at the lumber yard over 8 inches wide anyway. I can see people that slice their own veneer needing the capacity. Just playing devils advocate here. Coop will tell you I am good at helping people spend their money and here I am trying t save you your's.
  18. I think Big Old Retail Giant takes in Lowes, Minnards and any others that may be out there.

  23. I did a trestle dining table back in May of 2018. I did faux breadboard ends in that they look like breadboard ends but they are the section you pull out to put in the other leafs. I built it out of Red Oak also, we had found some chairs that we liked and I built the table to match. I did a journal of the build over on WTO. I can probably put a link here, I think, if you would like.
