  1. lol.. All good.. A friend of mine here has another friend (I have not met yet) that bought the saw and just got it put together last week. Yes, it comes with the MG-36 so, I get the opportunity to actually put my hands on the saw as well as take a good look at that miter gauge. If I were a betting man, my money would be on Friday to get a good look at things..
  2. Update: My wife was kind enough to grab some pictures of my gauge so, I wanted to drop them here. Here's the back of the gauge. Obviously, I don't have the same issue as Marc. The miter bar is the old style even though this gauge isn't that old. Pretty sure that I'll be off this weekend and will get to see the new Harvey in person and have a closer look at the MG-36 that came with the saw.
  3. A few things to touch on here.. First off, I'm going to get access to the Harvey saw as well as the miter gauge that came with it so, will be able to verify some of the defects from Marc's video. Additionally, I've paid the money to have my wife overnight my video gear to video the results that I'll release off schedule to get them out there. Good or bad, I will publish my actual findings. As a bonus for you guys (Ok, maybe not a bonus...lol), you guys will get to see me with a full beard on my face.. I didn't have to be fit tested on this job so, got to let it grow.. I'll loose it when it's time to get back to the respirator.. Ok, next up.. If you haven't seen it, Stumpy Nubs did a video in rebuttal to Marcs. He didn't name names but, we all know who he's talking about. Although I think Stumpy has always done pretty honest and fair product reviews, I think it's important to remember he has a financial interest with Harvey. With that said, I think his points were valid and appreciate the fact that he let everyone know he had a financial interest. And lastly, I've asked my wife to take some pictures of my MG-36 so that I can look at the gap just to be sure. If I were at home, I would probably order another one just to see and then give it away to a lucky winner or something. Everything I've seen so far is leading me to believe that Marc got a bum one and that happens. However, his experience with their customer service is an entire different issue and warrants some concern! You all saw me really go after PM but, ultimately, that was caused by their lack of good customer service when I got a bum product as well. So, I won't fault Marc there as that was his experience. So, that's where things are at for now.. I did reference this forum on a YouTube post so, there's probably lots of readers looking at this. I hope they join the conversation as we work through these conflicting reviews.
  4. My wife's cousins are in Columbia Falls.. Not too far from us, 25 minutes or so..

Welcome Rob.. Where at in OK? I work quite a bit in Enid and my company is based out of Tulsa..
  6. Thanks! I didn't recall any issue there with mine either but, I can't just run out to the shop and look at it right now. I think I'm going to have an opportunity next weekend to see a new Harvey TS in person as well as that MG-36
  7. Welcome to the forums! Sorry for the late response, I'm working nights on this work trip.. You are correct, it is NW MT.. Kalispell to be exact. If you're ever in the area looking, give me a shout and we'll try and get together. Where abouts in SoCal? I was born down there and still have quite a bit of family there. I also seem to work there from time to time..
  8. By now, I'm sure most of you have seen Marc's review.. I don't have the slop issue with mine, anyone else having this issue?
  9. I suppose you could epoxy the bottom to fill those in? It's the bottom so, you won't see it..
  10. I would have made it round first with the flush trim and a template. Then I'd of used that template to create a bottom with no gaps - or minimal ones at best.
  11. Thanks! 1. No, working time stays about the same. Admittedly, I don't use filler very often. 2. That's a micro adjust countersink that I showed in a video a while back. They're used in the aircraft industry but, I use them for woodworking. That one is set up for a #6 screw and produces a perfect countersink every time. The white circle is just the plastic protector to prevent the surface from getting marred up. 3. Currently, there are 2 in my shop and both live in front of my OF table. I will probably add more or maybe do the entire floor.. Just have to ensure that my heavy work table and bench that are on castors will still roll on whatever I decide to use. I do notice it on my feet after a long day in the shop, yes.
  12. Nice.. for the inside circle, you could make a circle jig and use a flush trim bit to clean it up.. This will also give you a perfect template for the bottom.. Just a thought.
  13. Can you show us pictures of your problem?
  14. No worries, they're back in the archives a bit..
  15. Only if porcelain is involved 😉
  16. I just know you're talking about the newspaper 😉
  17. As Bryan pointed out, I built 2 cabinets around my saw.. This is a general storage cabinet.. And this is an oldie that I built for storing my sleds.. This one lives on the left side of my saw and I built a holder onto the side to hold my sled.
  18. These look like the ones I'm using.. Please note this is not an affiliate link so, you'll have to click through my affiliate page if you want to help me out.. They're not expensive.. https://www.amazon.com/Grwanpen-Magnetic-Stainless-Decoration-Displays/dp/B08TBP6P5B/ref=sr_1_17?crid=2XKE5NO8HJG9E&keywords=magnet%2BBinder%2Bclips&qid=1642766923&sprefix=magnet%2Bbinder%2Bclips%2Caps%2C77&sr=8-17&th=1
  19. Those are magnetic binder clips. I'm not sure of their exact name but, I used blue tape and CA glue to hold them on the cabinet. I think I snagged them from a plant I was in that was tossing out a refrigerator. They were stuck to the door of the refrigerator and I snagged them.. Sorry I couldn't be more help on where to pick some up..
  20. That drum in your original pic looks to be pretty heavy which would explain the shipping cost. Shipping has gotten really expensive! I'm sure you've all noticed less giveaways this last year? That's mainly because of the shipping costs that I cover when I do a giveaway.
  21. Yea, I was pretty sure he'd be a good resource for you. Having been in his shop, his set up works pretty well!
  22. Yea, that was kind of the point I was going for in this video.. It's not about how much money you can spend, it's more about the little things that just save steps in the shop that really improve shop efficiency. I thought it was kind of cool today, I got a not from a guy that's more of an auto mechanic and told me he got a lot of really cool tips from watching this woodworking shop video.. I thought that was pretty cool!
  23. Just some things you shouldn't say to another man @Coop 🤣
