  1. yea, I hang mine vertically on the side of my sled cabinet.
  2. Knowing where you live, I'm not too sure I understand why you have a snow mobile...lol
  3. You'll never regret good dust collection! Not switching up machines and hoses all the time really will make your time in the shop more enjoyable!
  4. Seems that no matter how many times you cut them, they're still too short 🤪
  5. I'm with Bryan on this one in that you'd be happier with more HP but, that would most likely require a 220 run. I vent mine outside and love it most of the time. They only time it creates a "dust" issue outside is if I let the bin over fill. Then, it make a mess! You really don't see any dust during normal use. The hard piping looks simple enough. If you're able to upgrade the machine, you could go ahead and pick up all your tools with simple blast gates and be done. I think all the bigs make good reliable DC machines. Suggest some homework to see your options but, Oneida, Clearview, Laguna, Harvey, and Grizzly all have legitimate options. I don't recall the brand of the one @Chet has but, it does a nice job in his shop as well so, would also be a viable option for you.

Welcome to the forums Larry! Looking forward to seeing more of your work! The piece posted above is stunning!
  7. Look up "segmented circles" for turners.. I'm sure they have a program that dials everything in for you.. Something like this.. https://www.blocklayer.com/woodturning-segments.aspx
  8. Thought I'd drop this video in here... Seems the most appropriate spot..
  9. Very cool! I really like the Instructable!

    Greetings!

Welcome Duke! Happy to have you aboard and thanks for the kind words!
  11. Welcome to the forums! You'll find this is a great bunch of folks for either bouncing ideas off of or getting advice from! Even though I own the forums and create the videos, these great folks influence many of my ideas and creations! I look forward to seeing your work and your added views on the conversations! Again, welcome!
  12. I'll be traveling tomorrow but, wanted to take a minute to wish you all the happiest of a new year! I'm looking forward to all of your projects and creations!
  13. Shop time is so much nicer once the organization task is handled. Clean up goes much faster as well.
  14. I must have read that wrong.. I don't have many ideas about a digital lock.. I would imagine it would need a power source. I know my gun safe has one but, I don't know how readily available they are plus the size could be problematic for your project since it's not very big. As for the hinge, I don't have anything to back this up but, I would think that fewer moving parts would require less maintenance? The positive side to the piano hinge is that it's stainless and less affected by the elements. I think paint and dry lube here will be your friend.
  15. This is interesting! I'll just toss some suggestions out here, take what you need/want... Any reason to not build it like a small pole building? Ply sides covered in thin metal in a color of your choice. You can order this cut to length within 1/2". Cutting it is fairly simple with a circular saw, just flip the blade backwards. Note: It's loud, wear hearing protection! Would need more details around the "clock".. Inside behind some Plexiglas? Hardware is tricky as well.. I wouldn't put expensive hinges on it and would just maintain them as required. You didn't mention anything around latches and locking but, that's probably not my best subject either...lol
  16. Thanks bud! You're the man!
  17. Awesome @Coop! Apologies again for giving you the bum info! Wasn't intentional!

As much money as you've made off of us slobs, you should be able to upgrade... 🤣
  21. I have a "catch all" drawer in my assembly table that was totally disorganized! I also had another drawer there that really only had a Festool drill and it's accessories in it. The first drawer had a lot of items I use regularly and I wanted that stuff to live there so, it was time for some organization! I'm posting the picture below but, I also shot a quick shop win on this as it's a pretty quick and simple upgrade to any drawer! I'm not sure when the video will be released. I'll probably sit on it for a bit and see what my work schedule holds. I can make it available in the private viewing room if anyone wants it.
  22. I think Grandma has claimed it...lol. I'm sure this one will stay in the family somewhere..
  23. During the building of the baby furniture (both pieces), as small scraps would accumulate, I glued them up into smaller boards with the thought of a chaotic cutting board made completely from those 2 projects. The handles were the ones my wife rejected for the changing table so, they got used on this. I've never attached handles to a cutting board this way but, the goal was to use left over bits from the Baby Furniture.. I'll try and get a better picture a bit later..
  24. Holding up fine for now.. When it get's below 0, I try and run less milling sessions. The shop holds at around 68 degrees and we haven't gotten to temps so low that it's effected the shop.. I've been impressed with them. Power bills go up in the winter but, they're not unmanageable. I'm not noticing anything different than any other year on that front.
  25. Actual temp is -1 but, that's splitting hairs.. Still just a sweatshirt to run to the heated shop..
