The MC should be relative to your area. I'd certainly let them acclimate to your shop for a few days but, I don't think you'll see much change in the MC. Unrolling could make them a little more manageable when you're ready to use them.
  2. Welcome to the forums! Looking forward to seeing your work!
  3. Well done! They look great around the table!
  4. A bot on a site like this is just a software program that surfs the net grabbing information from all kinds of sites. They're grabbing site traffic data and stuff like that to gear appropriate advertising or to set up fake accounts to post links to their sites.. A bot is created by a human to do a bunch of repetitive electronic tasks much faster than a human can do them. This is why we require people to register to post here. It really takes a human to create an account and post. Really cuts down on the riff raff.. Plus, if you think about it, I could open the doors wide open and the only information they would get about you is your email address. Just another reason that I don't collect your information.
  5. Thanks Coop.. There will always be lurkers and that's ok. They miss some of the forum sections that the members see but, they're welcome to lurk. Also, some of those "guests" are various bots and things cruising through the net collecting data. This happens will all sites like this one.
  6. I should do something similar for mine as well.. Certainly makes storing it much easier!
  7. I saw another post yesterday with people having issue with Felder CS as well. I just wonder how much of it is Covid related?

@Spanky, check your PMs.. If Coop won't pry open his wallet for you, maybe I can round you up some business..
  9. That's pretty similar to mine. Mine seems "slow" to warm up as well. I really should break mine out more often!

My truck was pretty full and my wallet was pretty empty when I left!
  13. Lowes / HD should have them.. Probably in their specialty section of the nuts and bolts section. Or, perhaps you'd prefer Amazon? https://www.amazon.com/Prime-Line-9192619-Square-Plated-25-Pack/dp/B07FLZX8Y8/ref=sr_1_3?crid=35E8OHJM6KX9U&dchild=1&keywords=1%2F4+20+square+nut&qid=1610309520&sprefix=square+1%2F4"+20%2Caps%2C258&sr=8-3
  14. Just an FYI.. We've pushed a normal update. Please let me know if there's any new or unusual issues.
  15. My thoughts on stuff like this was covered in a video a little shortly after the new shop was completed.. To date, I still really like the set up... For the most part..... I've been slowly making a couple small changes for items I use a lot at my regular workstation. I have a hand tool bench/area but, it's just not my normal work location. So, I've been adding some bits and pieces to some open drawer space in my assembly table like a block plane and I will be ordering some general use rasps soon as well as possibly a hand saw or 2 and a small set of chisels..
  16. I'll believe it when I see it.. I've been hearing this as long as I've known you.. Fingers crossed for you! Congrats if you pull it off!
  17. Those cushions really added to some already nice chairs! Nice work!
  18. Awesome list with lots of cool stuff to see! Will really be interesting for both of us to go back at the end of the year and see what we actually got accomplished!
  19. Amazon has a bunch of them! https://www.amazon.com/Juvale-Rail-Road-Crossing-Symbol/dp/B07BLTQ791/ref=sr_1_4?crid=2FP7TGFZDJ39K&dchild=1&keywords=railroad+crossing+sign&qid=1609686842&sprefix=Rail+Road+Cro%2Caps%2C200&sr=8-4

    Desk

All fair points! Marc did his desk and placed a wireless charger under the (thin) wood. It worked so poorly that he's not using it. Probably a big reason I have my doubts on the technology at this point. Cord management on this project is super high on the priority list! I've been frustrated for quite some time that Mac doesn't have a good "docking station" to help eliminate some of the cords and cables needed to use a laptop as the office computer. This is especially true since they've removed USB from their laptops and gone to all USBC. As for the stand up... I was recently approached by a company to possibly do a review for them in exchange for the hardware. If they meet my terms, I might just do that project this year. Frankly, the hardware isn't that expensive so, might be on the list either way. Regardless, it doesn't really fit my want's and needs for my office space. If it's something I really wanted, I'd probably and a desk mount unit to the current desk design.

I should touch on @Mtairymd's comment on file storage as well.. It's a legit observation! Maybe it's because I'm old...lol. There's still a lot of things that we keep in paper copy. Birth certificates, titles to vehicles, tax returns, etc.. We definitely store way less than we used to but, haven't gotten completely away from it yet. In reality, most of what we keep in there should probably be kept in our safe but, there's no room in there.. Might be time for another safe??? In which case, I would simply repurpose the drawers for something else.

    Desk

I could but, I don't know that the "cost savings" would be that significant. They don't have to be solid risers. They could just be 1" strips glued to the top and bottom of each cabinet. They're only there to support the top.

I've sourced some "in top" options that will give me both an outlet as well as some USB charging. They only thing that will be visible from a cord perspective on the desk will be the power cord for the computer and the HDMI cable to the computer. I will certainly route those under the desk for the most part but, there will be parts that are visible. By moving the power outlets up the wall behind the monitor mount, the majority of the cords will not be seen. The only cords (currently) that will be difficult are the home router cord, the docking station cord, and the speaker cord. The speaker cord could be done away with if I went wireless on the speakers but, my Klipsch speakers really sound good and they were expensive. Getting the wires off the desk is a high priority in this build to keep the surface clean. As for the wireless charging, I'm just not sure that it's come along enough to be an option. Perhaps it's that I don't trust it yet?? I'm more concerned with reliability than doing something fancy for video sake. Here's the video from 2018 (February) where I revamped my office space.. Jump ahead to near the end to see what the office looks like (for the most part) today. The biggest changes are the single curved monitor that I now use and I've switched to Mac on a laptop. Also, that file cabinet is no longer there but, I wish it was.
