  1. I really think that Laguna has the market on the 14" bandsaw. When it's time to replace the 17" machine, you can bet that Harvey will be on the consideration list! As will Rikon.
  2. I actually ordered mine a little earlier.. I saw his post in BW's thread and ordered it then. I was really itching to check out some Harvey stuff.
  3. What day did you order yours? I'll assume they were closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Sunday.
  4. We both got killer tracking updates along the way. I got a confirmation in less than an hour when I ordered.
  5. Between the holidays and Sunday, it wouldn't surprise me if yours hasn't moved much.. I think @Chet and I were pretty quick on the trigger. You hesitated and it shows.. ? Now ours are in our shops collecting dust as we read your note getting just as much use as yours ?
  6. I had the old equipment sold before I actually made my decision. Those of you that know me know I'm a huge fan of paying it forward. The gear that will be replaced in the next year or 2 already have a home to a good woodworker that is currently where I was at when I bought these machines.
  7. Pulled the trigger! Should be here in February around the time I get back home.. Current 14" is sold and should be picked up in the spring when the roads get a little better. The current Grizz won't be gone until the new one is in. I will shed a little tear when the Grizz goes! Kind of like that old 6" PM jointer, it's just been a fantastic machine and done everything I've asked it to do.
  8. That would be so nice! But, with the change in the tax laws, I don't get to write off much of anything anymore. The real saving grace for me is that I don't have sales tax.
  9. When it's time to replace the big saw, money won't really be the issue. That's just not the one on my list yet. Probably another year or so before I replace the big one. I really don't want the 17" as the "smaller" saw. The footprint is too big for the location I want it in although, I'll also say that the Laguna's footprint is a bit larger than the current 14" Grizz too.. For now, I'm only replacing the small saw. The Laguna saw with more HP(2.5) is exactly the same price as the saw with less HP (1.75). My hope is that this is the last time I replace this particular piece of equipment. The same thought will be in place when I replace the 17" and the lathe.
  10. All fair.. I don't see any different use for the saw than I'm currently getting. This one is still just a 14" saw but, has a little more HP. For the record, the same saw with less HP running 110 is exactly the same price and I have the power available at the location so, just made sense to get a little more power. The 17" will also be eventually replaced and I'm looking at the Laguna 18" for that. I'll also take a look at Rikon when that time comes. Maybe this year? Will have to see what the work year holds before making that decision.
  11. I'll be replacing all my remaining Grizz machines before I retire.. 2 bandsaws and a lathe. I love my current 14" saw and it doesn't need to be replaced. Just looking at the long term. I won't have the "disposable" income when I retire to replace machines like this. For the record, I still have a few years before I can retire.
  12. https://www.toolnut.com/catalog/product/view/id/44390/s/laguna-mband14bx220-250-14-bx-bandsaw-220-volt/category/2/ Seriously considering pulling the trigger on this machine.. Thoughts/insights from the group?
  13. Hey Josh, welcome to the forum! Nice haul for sure!
  14. That right there is pure awesome!
  15. Let us know how it works out! I could do a "quick shop win" video on this but, it's certainly not my idea or invention!
  16. Here's hoping you're not their IT guy as well... ?
  17. Those are looking awesome! I'll take 4! using the blue tape and CA trick would have saved you a little with your glue blocks..
  18. I'm going to toss in with Bryan on this one.. A shorter wall with a shelf on it offers some storage and solves your problem. Now, if the boss doesn't like that idea, I kind of like your direction.. Although I would consider coming straight up off of the floor for a bit before starting the slant. This will make the trim out much easier!
  19. That's fair.. I guess I'm just used to milling all the parts to thickness at the same time. On the off occasion that I need to add an additional part, my fingers are a pretty good gauge if I'm there. Don't get me wrong, I definitely see a benefit.. I'm just not sure how much use I'd get from it in "my" shop reality..
  20. Nice! Would like to see a review on this! I've looked at them but, just not sure I'd actually use it as most builds are relative dimensioning. More credit to see the barbie fly! ?
  21. Nice! Glad you weren't too far behind me on the delivery! Looks like a great Christmas Chet!
  22. I kind of have the same issue.. In the end, anything I offer up (even the video) is simply my opinion of the particular tool. It's a little easier if I keep that in mind when doing a review.
  23. I think I have a Rockler template for a cribbage board if you need one?
  24. Wow! A bit surprised at no posts here! The only thing woodworking I got was a bank charger for my Dewalt batteries.. I also got some cool AF veteran stuff from my kids and the latest Bill O'Reily book from my mom.
