  1. So in y’all’s opinion the minimum width of a cross cut sled should be what, left and right of the blade?
  2. Ok, a dedicated cabinet. Right now, mine lives between the a cabinet and the fridge. My mind has changed courses from the side of the ts to where they are now. Thinking of adding the sliding tray to the side of the cabinet. Would like to get them off the floor and more easily accessible. First consideration is the larger of the three, the crosscut sled.
  3. When you get a chance, will you provide a link to your video? You know me and my search capabilities! Thanks.
  4. With the above thought in mind, this will be like a drawer mounted on it’s side, with almost all of the weight riding on the bottom glide. And it weighs approx. 8-10 lbs. will this affect the “ slide of the glide”?
  5. I guess I should have reverse engineered mine but at the time, I figured bigger is better. Not thinking about storage or even weight. I like the 30” depth of mine that allows for a 24” panel but I could probably reduce the width from 34” down to maybe 26”. That would allow me to build a slide out bracket that would fit under the top and to the side of my ts, mounted somehow on drawer glides.
  6. Having moved to working 3 days a week, every other week, I find myself with time, trying to organize my shop. Where do you guys locate your sleds, given the afore mentioned 3 sleds? Pics would certainly help. Thanks
  7. My guy didn’t win and hopefully Mr. Biden has a long life. I will always respect the Executive Office as long as it is ruled within the boundaries of The Constitution. Hopefully my comment does not extend beyond the limitations of the forum.
  8. Chet, how’s the remodeling coming along?
  9. I know it would be an added expense and more work but I would be tempted to add an iron on veneer across the tops of all of them. Looking back at the original design, that is a bunch of veneer ($). But hey, it’s only your money?! Or, remake the bad ones?
  10. This may have to be a picture frame for a collage. My gc came out yesterday to meet with the concrete guy and me. The new slab will have 3 piers, 10’ x 1’, with one about 3’ from my gas meter. I asked both if they had gotten the utilities people to mark their lines and both of them had a “I thought you did that” look in their eyes”. Another friggin delay.
  11. My biggest concern on this venture was the twist in the door. That it would not shut firmly. With a YouTube video search, running diagonal strings from opposing corners of point of contact, will give the results. So far, mine is co-planer, if that’s the correct verbiage. In other words, looks pretty damn goo so far!
  12. Expensive as in not homemade? How do they differ?
  13. I haven’t seen cauls mentioned in a while. I have a container of these sticks and have not used them in a good while. I have 6 pieces of 1 1/4” stainless of angle that I use instead. I’m trying to justify getting rid of the wooden ones.
  14. We chose to keep the the amazing stuff in the bedroom! At our age, you can imagine how much of that is true! ?

Hmmm. Mine does does not have a mci and the insert provided have perforations that allow the dust to drop down and there is minimal dust on the table.
  16. Thanks Kev. I attribute a lot of this to the guy that milled the log for me. He had a 8’ long straight edge and applied it to every cut. If there was sunshine between it and the slab, he would change blades. Four blades for three logs. This stuff has been a pleasure to work with.
  17. I sure need no frost until about Christmas in order to get the tomatoes safely into canning and on blt’s. Got the first coat of ARS on one side of the door today. Also got the holes drilled for the hardware. I made a jig for the mortise for the whatever you call it. Worked out great. Measured a dozen times and cut and routed once.

Not familiar with the Laguna as I have a Grizz. Does yours have brushes against the blade below the table. Mine does and I have no dc problem what so ever, straight from the factory.
  19. Given what I’ve read, a 1/4” tenon would be max. That would give you less than 1/4” on each side. Again, only what Google has come up with. Lord knows I’m no expert.
  20. I think that consensus states a 1/3 ratio of the tenon to the width of the board. Therefore, 5/16 for the the tenon is a little much. Have you already cut the mortise?
  21. Jamie, I’m like Kev, a little late in the night but, right now, what is the width of your mortises. If I understand correctly, the thickness of your board is only 9/16 and the intended thickness of your tenon is 5/16?
  22. I mean that we will all be ok, regardless of race, religion or political affiliation. We have and we will!
  23. Darn lucky to have shoes on at all. It was a brisk 55* and I just slipped into to them to prevent frostbite?!
