  1. I have yet to find a 1/4” x 20 square nut.
  2. Since I have only been working 3 days a week, every other week, a friend told me I shouldn’t have trouble finding something to do for the other 6 days a month. Nothing planned butI do have a stack of various pieces of nice lumber that I got from @Spankythat needs to be made into something(s). Also need to build another purple Martin house before they return in late February.

Shack my butt! You forget that we have been to your country estate! And your view is comparable to Kev’s and Mick’s. We are adding on to the back of the house with a 16’x32’ slab. Half will be a kickass, well needed master bath with walk-in closets and the other 16x16 will be a covered patio. A mere pittance compared to your digs!
  4. This was called a junior college but it was more like a high school with ashtrays in the halls. And keep in mind that in those days, girls and women didn’t wear bras unless they were over 80 yo and then only for their own protection! I’ve often wondered how my life would have changed if I had had a pair of clean socks that day?
  5. That looks a whole lot better than any drawers I have. Well, except the new whitey tightes that I got for Christmas and are still in the package! ?
  6. Absolutely! My Dad started the company in 1945. We sell and service fire extinguishers and fire protection systems, mainly those that protect restaurants and spray booths. I worked there part time after high school and then full time after my second year of college in 1970. I got my fill of collage after working as a dock hand at night, going to class during the day and being a husband and father in between. The icing on the cake was one morning I went to a history class and the teacher sent me home to put on a pair of socks. I went home and never returned. Anyway, my parents left the company to me and two brothers. We bought out one brother about 10 years ago and my other brother and I sold the company exactly 5 years ago. Brother retired after 6 months and me being a workaholic, stayed on way longer than I anticipated. Probably more history than you bargained for? ?
  7. If the truth were known, it probably won’t happen, at least not in front of a camera?
  8. As of the 21st of this month, I will join the ranks of the unemployed. I gave my notice today. As @Richardatold me, 12121! 5 years ago my brother and I sold our company, him staying on for 6 months and me for 12 months. 12 led to 24, etc. and finally I’m giving in to retirement after 51 years in the business that our dad started in 1945. Being a workaholic, we’ll see how this works out?
  9. That’s cool and the fact that you are willing to pay it forward! You’re a good man!
  10. I tried different configurations with scrap lumber and a sheet tacked on as sheetrock and Bryan, she liked your idea best. She said she thought I meant a wall about 6’ tall as in HD. I put a 3/4” ply recessed backer board in the knee wall for a future grab bar. The sheetrock guys were in last week to rock and tape and float and texture. Painters were here today to prime the walls and ceiling. Can’t wait for the first shower party?
  11. And given the pics, you are a Veteran and that is your Christmas gift to all of us and, to all other Veterans and current heroes, we thank you for your service and Merry Christmas.
  12. OP, have you considered ventilation? I’m by no means a HVAC guy but just wondering.

Hey bud, we all have to roll with the punches and it is what it is. Political slogan for many years and it ain’t about to change regardless who is in the big chair. Politics aside, that doesn’t have to affect the hat coming your way. What is your liking?

I feel better now, yes I do!
  15. Oh, ok. We use Ridgid pipe threaders with foot controls to start and stop the machine. Depress starts and release stops.
  16. That ain’t right! You married your teachers daughter? No wonder you graduated with honors ? seriously though, I don’t have a 1/4” square nut but a six sided, not rectangular, and you would think ( maybe not) that it would fit as the two sides are parallel. Me and geometry quit getting along after 90* angles.
  17. Out of embarrassment, I can see where a foot brake would come in handy as a couple of times, as quiet as my saw is, I have left it running until I turn off the dc and hear it. Now, on the down side, do you have to have your foot on the pedal to keep it running?
  18. I was thinking French cleat as well. The upward clearance should be less than an inch at most.
  19. Kev, this didn’t take me directly to the video you mentioned but to many of his YouTube videos. Was it “Miter saw upgrades you’ve never seen before”? If so, I’m having a hard time uploading it. I’m curious about the, in your case walnut, pieces are added and replaced.

I didn’t know anyone was tighter with their money than me but you give me competition ?
  21. Those are square?! Theoretically I guess a square is also considered a rectangle.

Hey, you just give me the model number and color and it’s on it’s way! Guarendamnteya!
  23. Have you guys made a sacrificial fence for yours yet? They are calling for a rectangular 1/4-20 nut? Can’t say as I have ever seen one?
  24. Amazing work Jamie! I sure like the back design!
  25. You’re absolutely right Chet, now that I put my glasses on! Thanks bud!
