Where do you source ply like that from?

The grain on those panels look fantastic! Are they 1/4”?
  3. My shop equipment evolved almost verbatim to Kev’s list. However, he stated that as a newbie and intended to stay with the hobby and as no one will know this going in, I agree with @pkinneb, buy as the project requires.

Good thing you cut the groove before you tapered the legs.
  5. Bob, that sucks! I’m sure the checker board itself is glued up but is the frame? I’m like Kev, be darned if I would redo, turn it into an accent. Very well done otherwise! Play strip checkers and no one will ever realize there is a prob! ?

Very last sentence Monday. Prob a typo.
  7. I’m on the border side of the fence with Bryan about the jig saw. I’m probably one of the lone few that scuffed at the idea of breaking down boards with a jig saw and relied on dragging out the circ saw and extension cord due to an underpowered jig saw. Now, thanks to other’s recommendations and a gift from my son, I have a Milwaukee powerhouse and correct blades and the circ saw is stowed away. The miter saw is drug out onto the driveway and me on my knees, only on special occasions.

I missed the Monday portion of this till now. Is there a reason the bottom rails are wider than the top ones? i have never used bottom mount glides but hope to in the future. I guess you are side mounting these to give you more depth to the drawers? Why not use side mount from the git go? Availability? What is AM ply?
  9. I like the paper bag affect. They are hard to come by these days so I save one every once in a while. A little goes a long way.
  10. What kind of finish on the knife handle?

Glad you’re a happy camper Jamie! Congrats
  12. That’s sweet! Didn’t take you long to get back in the groove!
  13. In a shop your size, I can’t imagine. You’re gonna have to start piggy backing like the rest of us mortals?
  14. Thanks guys. My wife said I need to go from an 80 grit to at least a 400 grit?
  15. True enough but I took the 1/4-20 as an alternate.
  16. I think the size in the manual was 1/4-20, square and not metric?
  17. Has anyone contacted the manufacturer about this? It’s defiantly not a deal breaker but would be nice to know what they recommend. I love mine and treat it like a piece of fine china. I even hate to discard the box it came in?
  18. Unfortunately I haven’t adhered to that as much as I probably should have but I bet the alcohol hand sanitizers you see on every corner is not helping. Never thought about that. I’m currently considering a good quality 5W-30 motor oil. ?
  19. It seems that Woodworking and yard work just sucks the moisture out my hands. I realize that any kind of lotion should probably be eliminated in the final stages of prepping wood. Anyone found a good hand lotion you would recommend?

    Spanky's Lumber

Spanky is probably cutting the good stuff and shipping it underground at premium prices? He’s just too quiet!
  21. So, everything is going outside? I guess your overhead lighting comes down too?
  22. And that’s something you don’t encounter in a dry fit. Glad it worked out well for you!
  23. Attached as with just glue in this glue up?
  24. Jamie, do you have a belt sander? If not, you may have to go back to the router leveling table as as that stuff don’t take kindly to a ros, especially with a slab with that much surface area. Also, I found on a recent deep pour that a slight 3rd pour after sanding was in order, then a slight finish sanding with the ros. Looking good bud!
  25. DAMN! At least your next pour will be a lot easier. Did you use a propane torch or hair drier to remove the bubbles? Probably didn’t need to as much as you lost but might try it on your last pour. So neat to see her involved in this project! Priceless!
