There's 2 new buttons at the top of the page.
The first is for affiliate links and the second is for my online store.
As most of you know, I pay for all this stuff myself so, am looking to expand a little to make it self sufficient. By using these links to purchase or buying from my store, you help sustain what I do here.
The affiliates page is still being populated so, if there's an item you'd like to see there drop me a note and we'll get it added. I'm sure you can understand this is a huge undertaking!
Special thanks to my wife and son for putting this together while I'm finishing up the desk project!
Thanks for all of your support!
dang too bad you didnt have the amazon link when I ordered my sawstop 😞

Mine are all the ones Woodcraft carries. The aluminum ones not plastic. I have been happy with them, they have been in use for seven years. I just checked their website, the 6" are $30, 4" are $18 and the 2 1/2" are $16.
Thanks! I think I will go grab some of those since it will be quick.

looking for 2 gates, a 4" and 6". I noticed running them both open, the collection is not as good as it should be. So sucking it up and spending a little more $$ to get it right.
What do yall recommend? I have read several things going back and forth on almost all gates out there and even the custom made ones.

I am not sure if this is the only way to identify your house, but it may be very hard to see at night unless you can illuminate it. The dark wood and aluminum provide little contrast. I say this because I had to pick my son up at his friends house tonight, never been there before, they had a white mailbox with silver numbers, couldn’t see it in the dark. This was at a $900K home, so a light shouldn’t have broken the bank.
LOL! maybe all their money goes to the mortgage ...
Well, my initial thought was that the lights would reflect off the silver and you could see the numbers ... maybe not?

hah! Ya, I had to double check that price tag ?

I think epoxy is fine for holding it in place. You could add a couple screws just for a little assurance over time. I might also consider a coat of either paint or clear on the aluminum to protect it over time.
As for finishes, if I were doing this project, I would probably go with epiphanies. It holds up well outdoors and has some UV inhibitors that will make it last a little longer. It will be a bit more of a PITA when it is time to refinish it but, you should be longer between needing to do this task.
Thanks Kev! I will probably give that a try since Epip seems super highly rated ... never used it before since I have never had the need to.

I’ve looked around and watched a few of marcs videos too on his outdoor stuff.
what are y’all’s go to finishes for outdoors? This sign will be on a mailbox so it’s gonna get beat to death by sun/rain
As for keeping the brushed aluminum plate on I was thinking of just using epoxy on the back of the numbers and the pocket it sits in to hold it. Any better ways?

I am not sure you would gain much by running just a short section of 6 inch and then going right back down to 4 inch flex. 6 inch is going to give you benefits when you do it in longer runs.
ah ... sorry for the confusion ... The 6" will always be 6", just with a flexi hose for now. The 4" will be another flexi hose that I currently have running to my TS, jointer, planer. So I will have 2 runs

yes removed it ... according to the manual it "snaps" on, but I dont see anywhere where it could snap on haha.
Found this out there, dont want to pay $50 .. gonna see if I can 'unsnap' that piece or I might just cut it off haha

I am trying to upgrade my DC to start with a 6" outlet from the dual 4" on there now. What is that black piece called and where can I find a 6" version or even a 6" and 4" split? I have looked around and have not seen anything that looks like that.

I have the same jig Chet does, came with my PM. Although I have not yet had to change the blades on it, but they are getting kinds close to needing to be changed. Just dreading it ?
