  1. When you get them all done, clamp them together and cut the "V" groove in all of them at once with a straight edge.

    Bandsaw DC

This is interesting T, I have been pleased with the dc on my 1412 and all I have ever used is the factory port and I am at the end of my dc run. I do get some dust on the table when re-sawing but nothing that irritates me. But I like your set up. I looks nice and clean in design.
  3. Tie your shoe laces before you trip and fall. At least thats what my mom used to tell me all the time. (three photos from the bottom)?
  4. My wife is usually pretty willing to give me a hand but if it is going to be an extended process I have two grand kids that live next door that I use to avoid the death stare. But I am guessing the real mistake you made was taking the picture.
  5. Mine are in drawers and labeled. Like Kev said most are obvious but I do have three different size of up spiral and two or three dovetail bits I use occasionally to make drawer slides. So I just went ahead and made labels for everything in the drawer.
  6. We can just pile the trimmings on the street the night before or they provide a wheeled container just like our garbage except it is green and holds about 60 gallons.
  7. Yea, its nice, I have a couple of neighbors that let me add to their trash. I don't have to use they're cans a lot but with bigger projects its nice. Having to put them in the trash kind of pisses me off. We have a green service too were they pick up grass clippings, leaves garden trimmings and the like and they mulch it. But for some reason my 100% pure wood chips can't go in their pile.
  8. Yea its not fun but I don't let the bag get more then half full at a time. That makes it pretty easy to deal with.
  9. Welcome to the forums RxR.
  10. That is exactly the way I would have done them.
  11. Yea first thing on the docket this morning is emptying the dust can once again. Emptied it Tuesday also but this should be the last time on this project.
  12. A bunch of boring hours later all the stiles and rails are the same thickness and width.
  13. Thats real nice Coop and way nicer then the one in the picture. That dresser behind it looks like you copied Kev's drawer front design. ?
  14. I guess I tend to go traditional construction techniques most times. I am using 1/4 maple ply. I got a deal on some sheets that had damage one one edge, I basically got three sheets for the price of two.
  15. Don't try to get to crisp of a point on your pyramids it will look harsh to the eye. Something like this -
  16. The other ones are already ordered. It was $28.00 and in the grand scheme of things when you consider what we paid for the floor and counter tops the dominos won't even warrant a line item entry in the budget. ?
  17. I discovered this morning that I made what is probably my biggest mistake in my woodworking career. When I did the math to come up with the length of each set of rails for the cabinet doors, I failed to allow length for the tongues for the tongue and groove construction. I just ordered a big bag of 8 X 40 Dominos. Really glad I own that Domino machine now.
  18. You might have to have one or two beer breaks along the way.
  19. Started work on the doors and drawer fronts for the kitchen. Picked up 50 BdFt of maple cut all the stiles and rails for 23 doors and 5 drawer fronts. Did real well fitting everything in the lumber I bought, just a small pile of scraps (circled) and some of that is still usable lengths.
  20. End grain Oak takes a really sharp iron in you plane. Oak is like trying to plain a hand full of soda strays if your iron isn't really sharp it just wants to tear up the wood.
  21. I use High Performance, but I have been using GF EnduroVar more and more. I like it's slight amber tint and it will pop the grain some on its own. So its nice on quick, simple projects.
  22. My experience tells me they work the same thats why I went to the shellac and the fact that it drys way faster. But different opinions is what makes us individuals and the world more interesting.
  23. I learned that lesson decades back. I guy I was working for and was always fun on the job was suddenly being a real sour puss and I finally made the comment to another worker that he has been in such a crapy mood lately you would think his dad died or something. I found out the next day, that is what had happened. I felt like a jerk for a long time.
  24. That is one of the things I have come to like about using shellac to get the grain to stand outs apposed to ARS. If you have a color difference like that you can do second coat and get that part a little darker. It's not even an inconvenience to the project time line because by the time you get the first coat on, where you started is dry and ready for a second coat. Then by the time you get you drop cloths down and spray rig set up you can block sand the parts that got the second coat and start spraying.
  25. Quit typing about it and just do it. ???
