  1. I'm right there with you Chet!! I tell my kids on Instagram I follow woodworkers and stalk them ?
  2. Hmm getting me back for the miter gauge huh LOL I was eying that set and then they put it on sale, I almost pulled the trigger but thought I would think about it, that was yesterday, and now this ?
  3. For me the CT22 changed my world. Adding that to an already robust dust collection system seriously cut down on dust in my shop. Next would be the track saw again it allowed me to down size my table saw from a large inaccurate slider to a much smaller sliding table. Now I cut all sheet goods outside on a piece of 2" foam prior to bringing them into the shop. Next would be the OF1400 and OF2200 routers I love me some routers I think I was at 11 at last count but these two work so well with above average dust collection and spot on fences and adjustments. Finally the sanders I have 4 I think and they all just work and well! Overall like a lot of premium things in life are they worth the extra money probably not but dang they sure work well out of the box every time period and to me that's worth a lot, not what they cost but alot ?
  4. Agreed. I know they can be adjusted just need to determine how ?
  5. I agree but this seems like to much resistance. I did that just today. I will probably live with it for a bit and see if it gets better
  6. I made the base and love it I need to add the L fence to the list ?
  7. Hey all I am finally getting around to setting up my mortiser and have a question regarding the side to side and up/ down movements. So I have it pretty much dialed in and I have sharpened the chisels and bits but the up/down and side to side motions are really really stiff, front to back is great. Any thoughts on how to loosen it up a bit? Here are some pics of the DT keyways and the gears Thanks!
  8. I went with M6 hex nuts and metric button screws worked well and no grinding, cost me almost $6 though ? Having said that I agree they should include the square nuts referenced in the owners manual. There we go ? Since I had to set up stops on the DP I batched out 5 so I should be good for a long time LOL
  9. Nice job Chet!! I picked up on this technique in a Doug Stowe box making book I have. It provides an awesome finished product. I use the Bow Product feather board on my BS as well works well. You can also get an extension to make it taller if needed.
  10. Received my replacements yesterday along with some stickers and a free Bridge City 6" rule ? All better
  11. Looks great!! I agree with @Bushwacked had you not mentioned it I would have never guessed that wasn't the original design nice save!
  12. Very nice!! I recently noticed the hole in the lip on a video somewhere does that work for longer term storage as well? Seems like a great idea but I wondered if it was ok for a finish that wouldn't be used up in a short period of time.
  13. Just to close the loop on this I received an email from Harvey late last evening and they apologized profusely. They said they had been "swamped from the holiday and playing catch up" the replacement parts are in the mail and they provided tracking info. So all is good.
  14. Hey folks just wanted to follow up on this one. As stated in my first post I was mistakenly sent the metric version of the miter gauge and as of today nearly a month later it has still not been corrected. I am using the gauge and my review still stands but thought all should know the customer services has hit a bit of a road bump at least for me.
  15. Correct just 1/4" dado's half way up/ down on both pieces. By doing it this way they can be removed, reconfigured, etc
  16. For drawers like this I like to use hardboard insert's. They are cheap and easy to reconfigure or remake if things change. here is one example
  17. I like the piping detail on the bottom very nice touch
  18. Congrats Coop that's awesome!! That's got to be hard after so many years and such a closely held business but I'm sure you will find plenty to keep you busy ?
  19. So Kev's post got me thinking of what's up next for me. As many of you know the last two years of my life was spent finishing our basement and while there were many projects I look forward to making actual furniture again! So for me 2021 is going to be the year of the chair and while I don't expect to get them all done here is the list in no particular order 2 pool table spectator chairs The Michael Fortune #1 chair (MASW) Morris Chair Sculpted rocker I also have several other projects that I have on tap Redu our outdoor kitchen (This one will definitely get done so says my wife ?) Shop projects Tool cabinet Cutoff storage Clean spray room organize drawers Finally two quick basement projects BOSS mini riser for the front row of theater seats DVD storage rack in exercise room closet No way all of this gets done in 2021 but should keep me busy which is just the way I like it ?
  20. It comes in handy if you get a cutoff you need to remove or for general safety so the blade is stopped when you leave the machine. I must use mine a fair amount becuase I constantly find my self going for the brake on my 1412 ?
  21. The theory is so it can't flip out of the rail when pulled back.
