  1. That's an awesome piece Chet!!
  2. That appears to be a pretty good deal for lightly used tools congrats!! Other than the price I cannot recall any negatives thoughts on my Festool items...well there was one sander I actually wasn't fond of and sold ...but considering how much I now own pretty much just price and you definitely hit a score there 🙂
  3. I like @Chet use my TS55 to primarily knock down sheet goods and the only thing I would change is to go cordless if I were to do it over again.
  4. That was my thought as well 🙂
  5. Kev for what its worth I saw woodturningz.com had 4 pack of ornament blanks at a pretty good discount to Craft Supplies.
  6. I have forced air furnace heat/ Air conditioning in my shop becuase mini splits weren't a thing when I built my shop but I have always thought if my unit craps out I would look at them for both space and cost considerations. Keep me posted we definitely get cold here -1 is the high for the next few days 🙂
  7. Looks great!! I appreciate the mini split info as well I had heard they wouldn't work well in markets that cold good to know they have either improved or what I had read was not accurate.
  8. Picked up the blanks and the parts from Craft Supplies USA ...but I think I would look elsewhere for the blanks they were quite a bit bigger then required and I ended up cutting about 1/4" of two sides of each blank before turning.
  9. Pretty straight forward using a pen mandrel well except for the huge mess pink shavings everywhere LOL
  10. Great looking lathe space Kev!!
  11. Happy holidays all wishing nothing but the best for you and your family's!!
  12. Wow I saw that and thought it was cool...you actually acted on it and knocked one out I love it 🤣
  13. Great job!! My ice cream scoops are probably single best liked xmas gifts I have made especially with the gents 🙂
  14. At 6’1 with long arms not an issue as far as grabbing a tool. The lathe is purposely at an angle that way should/ when something flies off the lathe it will deflect to the left not straight back at me. I have tested this a couple times over the years with success 😊
  15. I have a cabinet to the right of my lathe with drawer storage and added a shelf underneath for blanks etc and a tool rack behind on the wall for the tools. On my old set up I had a shelf between the lathe and the stand which worked but as you mentioned would fill up fast so this time I went with the wall rack. We'll see what I think after a while but I think it will work. Old set up New set up
  16. That there is some fast internet my friend, regardless of where you live 🙂
  17. I typically copy someone else plans or just go off a picture I like. The latter can bite you in the butt though just had to run to the lumber yard and get another piece of oak for my spectator chairs due to another design change during constriction 🤦‍♂️ On a positive note the I will be able to use the changed parts for other pieces of the build so that's good. If I was getting paid like Kev is sharing on his current project oh my my labor cost would be off by like 12 hours and counting 🤣
  18. Kev curious is $90 for finish just product? Oh and thanks for sharing this data!!
  19. X2 and I kind a stink with it too LOL
  20. Awesome shop!! I saw it somewhere and copied it to work for my set up. It has worked well for many years.
