The other thing to think about is that there will be a shoulder so, you'll never see the mortise. It is important to get a decent fit for the glue bond but, you can get away with being a little sloppy here.

I doubt they work with a flip phone since you can't really buy them anymore but, I doubt vehicle manufacturers will tie themselves to a particular brand of cell phone..

I think that's a big part of the battle in nearly anything we do in life.. That's why we tend to try and stretch ourselves in projects! By stretching yourself, the next time you have to do it, it's just not quite so daunting! Glad you got the jointer straightened out!

For starters, the 1/2" is probably fine but, that's not what you want. Why not do it with a router and an edge guide to get the mortise you want?

I didn't really cover indeed/outfeed in the review as I really didn't know with that machine what I'd need. I've only done one project with it (Blanket Chest) and didn't have any need for extra support on that project. The bed is fairly wide and the clamp holds pretty well!

I'm not a fan of red oak but, then again, the table doesn't live in my house....lol. For a trestle table, I do like that there's some "change up" in the traditional design! As for the tenons, since you don't have the domino, to them yourself and stretch yourself a bit! That's what this is about! As for pinning them, my preference is to pin them from the bottom so that you don't see them from the top but, that's really only a design question that only you and your wife can answer.. Looking forward to the build!

We've actually been pushed back a little.. Probably not heading home until the end of the month.. My companies home office is here in Tulsa and they were kind enough to allow me to unload the lumber in our warehouse until I leave.. No sense having the weight on the truck any longer than necessary.
