  1. Great job on the matches Chet!!
  2. How do you count your steps ?
  3. Nice! I took a class from him a couple years back, I think it was put on by the Minnesota WW Guild IIRC. Really nice guy I learned a lot from him.
  4. I’ll report back if I see any issues over time but I have used the miter slot version for several years with no issues this version is just so much easier to set and adjust over the miter slot version.
  5. Since we have had a few posts lately about high priced tools that work really well I thought I would throw this out there. I purchased my InstaGRIP Featherboard Body by BOW Products last fall when it was on sale not realizing how much the Magswitch Magjigs were. Since the kids are always looking for xmas gifts I put a set of them on my amazon wish list and was lucky enough to get a set. Man does this thing work well!! Piece of cake to adjust in a just a second another over priced tool that works really really well ?
  6. My MG36 got its first real work out today the adjustable stop is a major game changer, so easy to dial it in exactly where you want it.
  7. I always find this amusing as well. I mean do people really think that when I was 25 with 3 kids under 3 I could really afford Festool, Lie Nielsen, etc heck no but I still made a lot of things. Having said that i'm not 25 anymore have my shop pretty much where I want it and if I want to buy $500 router or plane, well I do and I for one don't feel a bit guilty about it ?
  8. I'm right there with you Chet!! I tell my kids on Instagram I follow woodworkers and stalk them ?
  9. Hmm getting me back for the miter gauge huh LOL I was eying that set and then they put it on sale, I almost pulled the trigger but thought I would think about it, that was yesterday, and now this ?
  10. For me the CT22 changed my world. Adding that to an already robust dust collection system seriously cut down on dust in my shop. Next would be the track saw again it allowed me to down size my table saw from a large inaccurate slider to a much smaller sliding table. Now I cut all sheet goods outside on a piece of 2" foam prior to bringing them into the shop. Next would be the OF1400 and OF2200 routers I love me some routers I think I was at 11 at last count but these two work so well with above average dust collection and spot on fences and adjustments. Finally the sanders I have 4 I think and they all just work and well! Overall like a lot of premium things in life are they worth the extra money probably not but dang they sure work well out of the box every time period and to me that's worth a lot, not what they cost but alot ?
  11. Agreed. I know they can be adjusted just need to determine how ?
  12. I agree but this seems like to much resistance. I did that just today. I will probably live with it for a bit and see if it gets better
  13. I made the base and love it I need to add the L fence to the list ?
  14. Hey all I am finally getting around to setting up my mortiser and have a question regarding the side to side and up/ down movements. So I have it pretty much dialed in and I have sharpened the chisels and bits but the up/down and side to side motions are really really stiff, front to back is great. Any thoughts on how to loosen it up a bit? Here are some pics of the DT keyways and the gears Thanks!
  15. I went with M6 hex nuts and metric button screws worked well and no grinding, cost me almost $6 though ? Having said that I agree they should include the square nuts referenced in the owners manual. There we go ? Since I had to set up stops on the DP I batched out 5 so I should be good for a long time LOL
  16. Nice job Chet!! I picked up on this technique in a Doug Stowe box making book I have. It provides an awesome finished product. I use the Bow Product feather board on my BS as well works well. You can also get an extension to make it taller if needed.
  17. Received my replacements yesterday along with some stickers and a free Bridge City 6" rule ? All better
  18. Looks great!! I agree with @Bushwacked had you not mentioned it I would have never guessed that wasn't the original design nice save!
  19. Very nice!! I recently noticed the hole in the lip on a video somewhere does that work for longer term storage as well? Seems like a great idea but I wondered if it was ok for a finish that wouldn't be used up in a short period of time.
  20. Just to close the loop on this I received an email from Harvey late last evening and they apologized profusely. They said they had been "swamped from the holiday and playing catch up" the replacement parts are in the mail and they provided tracking info. So all is good.
  21. Hey folks just wanted to follow up on this one. As stated in my first post I was mistakenly sent the metric version of the miter gauge and as of today nearly a month later it has still not been corrected. I am using the gauge and my review still stands but thought all should know the customer services has hit a bit of a road bump at least for me.
