I don’t have a lathe but have several turning tools and most are roundish and have round handles. Wouldn’t the tilt top become a balancing act, trying to keep them in place? What’s the reasoning for the tilt top?

Those are cool and am glad you found a good instructor. That will put you weeks, if not months, ahead of learning on your own.

Does your charger accept different sizes? Every time I buy a pack of batteries I say I’m going to look into the rechargeable ones but never do.

Thanks. The most popular around here is Generac. I just need to determine how comfortable I want to be without power. And we have natural gas so won’t need gasoline.

I’m contemplating one in the next 6 months.

I’m thinking a holder like you keep your sanding blocks on if your pads are rectangular like mine. I’ve been planning on building one for some time now. But that still leaves your blade guards.

Back in my working days,I’ve had people tell me that instead of a fire extinguisher for the kitchen, they kept a container of flour nearby to douse any flames. I had to explain to them that if they were going that route, replace the flour with baking soda.

Damn bud! I’m glad all’s ok without a doc visit! And then to get out to the shop for catch up, sounds like something I would do! As for the bee the bee treatment, I have the answer. An old country boy showed me this one and I’ve used it successfully several times. Take a piece of rolled up newspaper (or any kind of paper) i.e. torch, light it with it at arms length, and throw a handful of flour across the top of the flame, towards the nest. It acts like a flame thrower and completely vaporizes the insects and nest and does no damage to what the nest is attached. Kind of a caveman approach.

I’ll try a variety pack when it comes out. It would be nice, if he could also mfg sheets to fit the Preppin Weapon sanding block.

I went to see him when I went to Tennessee last month to visit Richard and he’s not sawing anymore. He sourced all of his logs from his in-laws mill and they sold it. He’s raising bees now as a non paying hobby.

I have a 10/4 x 12” x 10’ piece of qtr sawn sycamore and two 6/4 x 10” x 10’ pieces of ambrosia maple from him, waiting to become something.

Darn, that was a wide piece of maple!

I made one a couple of years ago, no where near this intricate and the source mentioned an app for different designs but I never did follow up. Yeah, a link to the video would be appreciated. Bryan’s suggestion or a border either one would be neat. I’m betting this never sees contact with a knife blade!
