    Shop Tweaks

Another shop tweaks video coming out this weekend!
  2. Nice! Looks like you're ready for the roll up door?
  3. I've done this for years as well..
  4. Yea, it's a dual edged sword for me.. The domino isn't in many people's wheel house let alone the pantarouter so, doing the video stuff, I'm just nervous how much use it would get. I think if I didn't still have a "day" job I'd have more time to use it and show alternative methods to offset the negative feedback. The domino is becoming more and more excepted so not really an issue anymore.. This one the other hand....lol
  5. Pretty nice! I've been toying with adding one of these to my shop.. I struggle convincing myself it will get used because I have the domino.. Would love your input!
  6. Rain could toss a wrench into things! Tough choice to put it in the garage and then move it or shorten the trip and drop it outside closer to your roll up..

    Bandsaw Safety

I'm like @Chet in that I have music going all the time but, I can't hear it once the DC and a tool are turned on. Regardless, if he thought the music was a factor for him, perhaps it was. Personally, I think a jig would be in order to make these cuts. Not only would it be safer but also more repeatable.

    Bandsaw Safety

I'm not really a Jay Bates fan but, I give him much credit for posting this accident in his shop with his bandsaw. A good lesson for all of us!
  9. @ray... Haven't had an update in a few days ????? Looks like I got extended on this job for a little over a week.. Looking forward to getting home and seeing all the planning coming together!

    Shop Tweaks

First video is out and available...
  11. Anything is possible but, I think I'll be a little later than that by a few days.. Some things could work out our way with some manpower here since the other unit being done is finishing first and the guy in my role there is employed by the plant. So, maybe he'll want a few more night shifts and come take my spot..
  12. Looking good! About 1/2 way through this job now and I should be home to help you out with the wall and ceiling..
  13. Super nice and great explanation! Cribbage is a fun game! It seems to be getting harder and harder to find people that play.
  14. As @Olie stated, we've had lots of conversations. Originally, this was designed with a torsion top. However, when Olie wanted to add work holding, I don't think this was a viable option and the plan was changed to solid.
  15. Very cool! Can you walk us through the carving process?
  16. So sorry for your loss! Thoughts and prayers for the family! Beautiful work as always!
  17. Just a thought that might be worth a try... Admittedly, I have not tried this... Cut a couple smaller pieces on the picture frame sled that are exactly the same width as your "keeper" pieces. Use them as templates to flush trim your "keeper" pieces after rough cutting them with any method of choice. The tricky part is ensuring those long pieces are exactly the same length. Shooting board could be tricky seeing the lengths you're doing!
  18. Obviously, @Ray Martin and I have had a lot of conversations but, all the decisions are his.. It's my understanding that he's doing most of the inside work himself. I believe there's a bit of that hired out and, of course, I'll be there to help as much as possible. Pretty sure we're building an internal wall as well as some drywalling and finishing stuff. After that, I'm pretty sure there's a good amount of new shop furniture on his agenda so, I'm looking forward to helping him through that stuff as well.
  19. Probably the best use for my head! 🤣
  20. That means it should be warm in there by the time I get there... 🤣
  21. Testing.. @Olie may be having some issues posting so, I'm trying to do some trouble shooting...
  22. I've seen these out there for a bit now. I just haven't looked into them because I have everything hard piped.. It's nice to see someone here using them because they make a lot of sense!
  23. Looking forward to it! I need to add one in my shop as well..
