Thanks. The most popular around here is Generac. I just need to determine how comfortable I want to be without power. And we have natural gas so won’t need gasoline.
-
I’m contemplating one in the next 6 months.
-
Is that a whole house generator to the right?
-
Thanks for the reminder! I’ve just gotten in a rut and went straight to Amazon.

I’m thinking a holder like you keep your sanding blocks on if your pads are rectangular like mine. I’ve been planning on building one for some time now. But that still leaves your blade guards.

Back in my working days,I’ve had people tell me that instead of a fire extinguisher for the kitchen, they kept a container of flour nearby to douse any flames. I had to explain to them that if they were going that route, replace the flour with baking soda.

Damn bud! I’m glad all’s ok without a doc visit! And then to get out to the shop for catch up, sounds like something I would do!
As for the bee the bee treatment, I have the answer. An old country boy showed me this one and I’ve used it successfully several times.Take a piece of rolled up newspaper (or any kind of paper) i.e. torch, light it with it at arms length, and throw a handful of flour across the top of the flame, towards the nest. It acts like a flame thrower and completely vaporizes the insects and nest and does no damage to what the nest is attached. Kind of a caveman approach.

I’ll try a variety pack when it comes out. It would be nice, if he could also mfg sheets to fit the Preppin Weapon sanding block.

I went to see him when I went to Tennessee last month to visit Richard and he’s not sawing anymore. He sourced all of his logs from his in-laws mill and they sold it. He’s raising bees now as a non paying hobby.

I have a 10/4 x 12” x 10’ piece of qtr sawn sycamore and two 6/4 x 10” x 10’ pieces of ambrosia maple from him, waiting to become something.
-
Darn, that was a wide piece of maple!
-
Yep, that looks sharp. I watched the video but don’t remember if it said. How wide is the cutting board?
-
Yeah, I watched the video and kudos on yours! That’s a lot of rewind and note taking! Thanks!

I made one a couple of years ago, no where near this intricate and the source mentioned an app for different designs but I never did follow up. Yeah, a link to the video would be appreciated. Bryan’s suggestion or a border either one would be neat. I’m betting this never sees contact with a knife blade!
-
That came out really nice! Did you have a cut pattern to go by?

That’s pretty darn cool. I like it like it is!

Will wait anxiously to see what a 3D board is. And never fail to post on an outcome you are unsure of as we can all learn from your mistakes as we do from our own! That’s a lot of time waiting for glue to dry! 😁

Ok, this one might be crazy, even for me!

What the heck did you just commit your poor wife to? 😀 I don’t want to be in your shoes when you tell her!
A great way to see your shop in person and most importantly, actually meet the members here! I’ll foot my own accommodations if the wife approves such a guys time together. Thanks for the invite!- 1

Good idea!

I’ve never made these. Did you drill the holes at the drill press?
-
Now that’s a neat deal, being handy and inexpensive!

I’ve never used clamps on the ends like that but see it done quiet often. I usually use cauls which can be a pain. Do you apply pressure to these clamps prior to pressure on the horizontal bar clamps?
-
I put mine in clear plastic sleeves that fit in 3 ring binders. I also put the receipt that I paid for them or a note with the cost and date of purchase. More for my heirs for a garage sale than anything else. Unfortunately, I sometimes fail to toss these when I replace the tool.
