  1. Very nice!!

I recently noticed the hole in the lip on a video somewhere does that work for longer term storage as well? Seems like a great idea but I wondered if it was ok for a finish that wouldn't be used up in a short period of time.

  2. So Kev's post got me thinking of what's up next for me. As many of you know the last two years of my life was spent finishing our basement and while there were many projects I look forward to making actual furniture again! So for me 2021 is going to be the year of the chair and while I don't expect to get them all done here is the list in no particular order

    • 2 pool table spectator chairs
    • The Michael Fortune #1 chair (MASW)
    • Morris Chair
    • Sculpted rocker

I also have several other projects that I have on tap

    • Redu our outdoor kitchen (This one will definitely get done so says my wife ?)
    • Shop projects
      • Tool cabinet
      • Cutoff storage
      • Clean spray room
      • organize drawers

    Finally two quick basement projects

    • BOSS mini riser for the front row of theater seats
    • DVD storage rack in exercise room closet

No way all of this gets done in 2021 but should keep me busy which is just the way I like it ?

Just curious what others think? The little round guide at the end of the bar that fits into the miter slot I find to be a pain, as was the one on the Incra that I removed. This allows me to drop the miter gauge down into the slot without having to start it into the slot from the front of the table. Is there a reason this guide is on the bar?

The theory is so it can't flip out of the rail when pulled back.

To me the major upgrade to this machine over the 14/12 or the current grizzly is the foot brake. I know some don’t see this as a big deal but I know in the year I’ve had mine 14/12 I’ve wished I could stop it quickly to make a fence adjustment real quick. Yes more power is always great to. Just a side not you can change the tap up on most motors now to convert them to 240v from 120v. I know my rigid ts an Laguna bandsaw you can.

That would be a major thing for me as well. I have one on my 16HD and use it all the time.

Kev once you get used to having it you will love it.

  5. I have a Laguna 1412 and 16HD both have been awesome machines with zero issues. I'm sure you will love it.

I have actually been looking around my shop thinking the same thing I have 3 to 5 years left to work. I have wanted a Felder J/P since I saw Mel's  941 in person a few years back. I will probably go with the AD741 if I decide to pull the trigger. This year I just want a few small items and to finish up some things in my shop, like the trim I have been tripping over for 3 flippin years LOL

I received a  Lee Valley drill press table, Amana counter sink bit, a branding iron which is going to be special every time I use it because it was designed by my oldest grand daughter including the design of the font.  I will post a picture when I try it out.  I got two rolls of blue tape, a stocking stuffer I actually asked for.  Also there will be a much needed new set of Forstner bits (back ordered at the time).

Not a Christmas gift but this was delivered about 7 this morning.  It was on the porch when I went out to get the paper.

Ok Chet your turn to do a review. I have been wanting a branding iron for a while let me know what you think of yours.

My wife gave me the Harvey miter bar without knowing it.

Imagine my wife's surprise when I opened the empty wrapped Harvey box that read to Paul from your wonderful wife ?

The kids were like wow mom you really went all out this year...I just smiled

If I hadn’t stopped for a beer on my way home, I would have beat you to it as a present for my brother. I’m assuming he still uses the miter bar that came with his SS and I haven’t asked, but I would have thought it would have been more substantial. I may have to just go ahead and get the Harvey and give him my Incra. Paul, did you mention where you bought it? Great review by the way.

Will you be adding a sacrificial fence?

    Direct from harveywoodworking.com

Yes I will, 3/4" mdf like I used on the Incra
