  1. Good morning fellow woodworkers. Just a quick update on the progress of the new shop. Returned home from vacation almost 2 weeks ago and was pleased to see the slab had been poured. Shout out to Kevin for the non paying position of supervisor while I was away. Lol. Contractor returned a couple of day ago to tidy up and finish up the gravel around the slab. Next update for erection of shop around last week of August or first week of September.
  2. @Kev Came home from dinner tonight and they were here dropping off the trenches for the footings. Looks like concrete really soon.
  3. Ground work has been completed and concrete is next. They tell me within a week or two is should be complete. Time will tell. Had the electrician out to complete what he needed to do for the floor outlets.
  4. Wanted to post a few more pictures of the progress of the ground breaking for the new shop. My contractor spent about 4 hours the other day breaking up the concrete with rebar. The thickest end was 16". Sure he was sore the next day from using the jackhammer. Today was the first full day of work.
  5. Major work completed today. Hope all is completed tomorrow or Friday.
  6. @Coop yeah he is exceptional. I'll just go and sit and watch. He says gravel tomorrow.
  7. Good morning. Have a few more pictures on the progress of the ground breaking for the future shop. Contractor spent 4 hours breaking up the 16" slab with rebar on the jackhammer. Pretty sure he was a little sore the next day.😬 He and a helper worked a full day breaking ground and hauling it away. He says gravel on Tuesday. We shall see.
  8. The slab should be poured right after they finish the ground work.
  9. Yea it's getting pretty exciting. Unfortunately they have been here for less then a day of work. All of the trades are exceptionally busy. Scheduled to actually build first week of September. Would really like to have it finished by then as hunting season is within a week or two and lots of the trades are very scarce during that time or show up for only part of the day. Pad will be completed and should only take a week to complete.
  10. Good morning all. Was having some difficulties posting pictures the other day for day one of ground breaking for the new shop. Think I might have it figured out. Apologize if some of these pictures are duplicates.
  11. Hello fellow woodworkers. If you have been reading Kevin's posts, you know that this is an exciting time for us as we will be building our new shop / craft room. We were notified last evening that ground work may perhaps be starting as early as next week. The actual building however will not be starting until the first week of September (dang). I am going to be posting pictures of the progress along the way. First set I will be posting are what we needed to complete before anything gets started.
