  1. Well the paint of the craft room and ceiling in the shop has been painted and complete. All of the lights are installed in both areas as well. Only problem for the shop lights is they are not working. There have been 3 different people besides myself trouble shoot the issue. Wiring these lights are not difficult. I have power to the fixtures but bulbs will not light up. Looked at the directions for the fixtures and the recommended bulbs are not the ones they gave me at the electrical supply house are not on the list. So we believe that they gave me the wrong led bulbs. The ones I have require a Load and a neutral at each end. The load an neutral are at one end only on the fixture. Will be at the supply house first thing Tuesday morning. Hope all have a very Merry Christmas. Will update Tuesday.
  2. Well finally have an update. Finally got the ceiling primed. What a pain in the neck, literally. Have decided to spray the ceiling. Have had enough of the rolling. Got the craft room textured today. Monday will paint the ceiling in craft room and shop. Getting ever so close. Goal for next week is to start moving in equipment.
  3. Did some cleaning and priming yesterday. Looks like I still have a little mudding and sanding left to do. Will do more today. Dragging a little bit today.
  4. Well Kevin stopped by to give me a hand with a few things today. We got the door hung today between the shop and craft room. Also got the area at the garage door sanded and primed. The primer allowed me to see how much more mudding and sanding I needed to do in that area. Believe it or not, came out much better then I expected. Pleasantly surprised and encouraged. Kevin suggested that we do that and paint it in order to not have to keep moving the things in the shop . Once it's complete everything goes to that area and stays there until we start moving things into the shop. Brilliant idea (if my calculations are correct, that's his third good idea this year 🤣 ). Here are a couple of pictures of today's progress. Don't worry Kevin, the door is not fully closed. The putty is fine 🙂.
  5. Afternoon all. We'll took a couple of pictures today for the shop update. Still have a bit of mud to put down. All of the screw holes have been completed (3 times as recommended) in both areas.
  6. I will take some pictures tomorrow. Not a lot of change visually as currently mudding. Will follow up tomorrow.
  7. Well the progress continues. Got a bit done today in the wife's craft room. If I didn't know it before this (and I did) I hate drywall work. Thank goodness I have friends willing to help. The shop has been taped and mud. Certainly not the final. Did I mention I really don't like doing drywall?. Lol 😆. Still a bit to go. I'll send pictures of shop when I clean it up a bit.
  8. @Olie. You guys did a fantastic job. Looks like the one that Kevin and I will be building for my shop, 🤣 Well done @Kev guys. .
  9. @KevI will critique it in the morning when I stop by. 😆
  10. Well we completed installing the birch ply Wednesday afternoon. Quiet frankly I did absolutely nothing in the shop yesterday as my back had enough. 😆 . Today spent some time cleaning up and put up and connected all of the electrical outlets in the shop with the exception of the 2 ceiling outlets. Monday afternoon they will do the blow in insulation in the ceiling. Getting close.
  11. @ChetUsing 1/2" birch ply. No finished needed.
  12. Well we are moving right along. If things go well tomorrow, we should finish the walls. Just a few pictures for an update.
  13. Happy to have heat in the the shop. Took them most of the day. Great crew.
  14. The wife's craft room is complete with drywall (all but 2 headers for the 2 doors). Kevin came over and we knocked out the rest of it. So appreciate all of his help. Heat goes in tomorrow. Getting closer by the day.
  15. Well we got quiet a bit done today. Kevin got here this morning about 9am. Had to make a trip to Lowes. With that all said it was a very productive day. Got more done then needed for the mini splits. Coming back tomorrow.
  16. Going to get a couple of bids and will take it from there. I really don't want to do it.
  17. Well good news today. They showed up this morning. They left one guy and left him by himself. All of the walls have been finished. He's in the attic I stalling the baffles. Kevin's coming over in the morning and we are going to install some drywall where the mini splits are being mounted. The echo has now disappeared in the shop.
  18. @Kevon a positive note, he did respond to your complaint and appears to want a resolution. Time will tell.
  19. Well as you know from previous posts, insulation was supposed to happen this past Wednesday. That did not happen as the crew called in on that day and yesterday as well. Remember in my earlier posts I mentioned it was hunting season? Anyway, they showed up this morning. They will be installing the baffles in the attic and finishing the walls today. Will contact the scheduler later to find out when they will do the blow in for the attic. Surely appreciate their effort to get the walls completed today so my HVAC people can get heat into the shop on Monday. Progress continues.
  20. @Kevand the plot thickens.
  21. @pkinnebyes that is correct. Ac and heat.
  22. @pkinnebI did a bit of research before we decided. Mr Cool didn't have good reviews. Mitsubishi and Daikin had the best. Went with the Daikin as they were 4K cheaper. Also Kevin has had his Daikin for at least 5 years with no issues.
  23. @pkinnebbarley. 4 inches on the ground now
  24. Got the pad completed for the condenser unit for the mini splits. Thought I would get it done before the snow came. Obviously I didn't make it.
