DAMN is right! It looks like you did a great job in selecting the lumber! Curious as to how you will be maneuvering this beast? Welcome home.

As long as you remember that you have them and use them, you can justify. I have a few items that others had that I deemed necessary that I have never used that upset me. I guess, just part of the rabbit hole!

And let me guess, shellac as a finish? Very well done bud! I’m sure he’s proud!

Now that’s sweet! Just fyi. And open to others. How often do you use the miter bar on the router table to justify a second micro adjustment. I’m about to learn something!

I think I see what you did, can you post a close up pic?
I bet that’s not what you were expecting to see?

I need to make a cabinet for a couple of systainers and a drawer for screws. 4’ high x 12” d x 22” w, nothing fancy. That is, until I checked box store prices on 3/4” ply. Unbelievable! That takes BB ply completely out of the pic. Lowe’s carries a 4x8 sheet called whitewood ply which is about 30-40% less than the oak or birch. Has anyone used this stuff?
My thinking is that as small as the cabinet is, there shouldn’t be too much of a prob with it warping? -
Hey Ray, how’s the progress?

I personally don’t like the narrow drawers. Speaking from experience, it sure limits what they can hold. It would offset the symmetry but I would locate the sustainers to one side instead of the center and combine the smaller drawers into larger ones.
Is there a reason for the double stiles down the middle on the side that we are talking about? -
This makes me feel better. I spent the night a couple of days ago in Kerrville TX at a halfway first class motel. I didn’t have a newspaper the next morning to read so I was looking around the toilet area and noticed the same darn thing! Damn scary! 😁

Probably too late to be an influence. Pocket holes have their place and this would certainly a good one. However, I like using rabbets as it gives me a chance to hone my skills for later projects.

Great instructional video Kev. Glad you got to use some of that “scrap” walnut! 😁
As discussed before and it’s prob on my end but the voice over is much louder and clearer than the live audio but certainly audible.

Thanks. That’s what I was thinking.

With the price of the materials being close, I would certainly go with the AM ply. I think the drawer design would be a personal preference on your needs. I’m about to build a systainer storage cabinet to get off of the floor so I like that idea. Maybe a combo with drawers to eliminate wasted space?
In your last post, second pic, what is the white area?- 1

A quality bench deserves to be surrounded by quality tools. Great find!

If she decides to put ribbon into the crafting, I can make you a helluva deal. Hobby Lobby comes to my wife when they are in short supply! 😁

What’s the thickness goal? I guess whatever it is when it makes its last pass out of the planer on the good side?
