Kev
After completely messing up the finish on the Child's Rocker, @Dick and I decided to turn a Box Elder bowl.. To be completely honest, he did the turning and I did the grunt work.. No complaints! I appreciate the lesson! We started at the big bandsaw to get a fairly flat face on the 1/2 log that Richard brought. Finally got the chance to use the Carter Log Mill which worked awesome! From there, it was off to the smaller bandsaw and the circle jig to cut out the blank.. We surely could have made this one a little bigger! Then Richard worked at shaping the bowl at the lathe.. Sorry, I didn't grab many action shots or video. Only took about a 1/2 hour or so to turn out this little bowl.. This one will sit on the new desk I just built!

Coop
That looks like a hefty investment. What is the significance of the design? Does it represent each individual like a brand or signature?

Does it represent each individual like a brand or signature? Nope.. Just us playing around with the tool and testing some of it's capabilities.. We barely scratched the surface with this too - no pun intended.. It was a significant investment but, it's also a one time purchase tool. From memory, I think is about $280 bucks for the kit.
