Bushwacked
So I saw awhile back on the Festool FB page … exposed dominoes as a feature. I figured I would try it out on the bits drawer I made. this is a 1/2 drawer. So the dominoes are #5 and tiny. turns out to not be as ugly as I thought in person and kinda a neat feature. Also super easy to make marking everything off the domino “bendable tabs” not sure what those black things are called next to the cutter. let the slamming begin 🤣
Chet
Not a bad idea. certainly would be a strong joint. I have seen this before, the first time was one of the big name woodworkers, can't remember who, they made their own dominos out of a wood that accentuated the project. Kev
If you go look at my router bit cabinet thread, you'll see that I did this on walnut with African Mahogany dominos...lol. Certainly nothing wrong with It.
Bob
I have made several drawer sets using through dominos. Either make my own domino or store bought. Quick, easy, and not bad looking.
Coop
I’ve made thru dominos before but not intentionally? 😳
pkinneb
I have to admit not a huge fan but I've definitely seen much worse drawer construction, next time add a wedge or two as well 🙂
