Moxon Vise

I built one a few years back and like it. I use it on the back of my Roubo is  the clamp version. The only thing I don't like is taking it on and off so I am thinking about building a new top for my other bench and build the moxon on the end and then putting a pattern makers vise on it. That bench has the Noden adjustable legs so I can get it up as high as it is now on the top of the Roubo.

Well, this one is in the books!  Pretty happy to have a vise at the assembly table!

I strayed from BC's plans on a couple points..

  1. I made the back longer for more of a foot to clamp
  2. I chamfered the front for "saw room" if I'm doing 1/2 blinds or something like that.

So watched the video, vise came out great.  Every time I see someone chisel out a nut, I always have the same question pop in my head.  Would it be possible to use a HCM instead of a chisel.  I have no idea why this question enters my brain, I’m strange I know.

For part of it, yes.  The issue is rotating a large work piece around in the HCM vise.  You could do it if you removed the vise and did it free hand.
