Not Fine Woodworking...

But woodworking none the less.

Forty four years ago the first thing we did to the house was build a pergola on the back of the house to create some shade.  It was a project that my Dad helped me with.  The time had come to tear the old beast down and build a new one.  It is all rough Con-Hart Redwood,  6" X 6" posts, 2" X 6" joist and 2" X 2" staves on top.

Now I just have to move my selections of smokers and grill along with the other furniture back in place

Looks awesome!! I hope you had help that looks like a tough project to do by yourself!

My two sons in law came over last Saturday and helped me with the posts and the six joist that run from the posts to the house.  Then we got the ten joist that sit on top of those laid up in position.  Then beer.  During the week I was able to get those 10 in the joist hangers and then toe nailed along the way and then do the staves 47-16 footers.  24 3" lag bolts and washers along with 460 3" screws.😲
