That’s sweet! What is going in the left compartment?

The top left? I dont know yet ... I was going to put a smaller drawer, but not sure. Right now it is my sacrificial fence which fits perfectly haha

If y’all mean the bottom left… so far this ..

That is awesome! I need to do this in my shop.

Are those specific to your machine or is it something you could have found locally?

I wouldnt say specific ... but I couldnt find anything local that was cheap enough to make it worth the drive vs shipping. Nearest place was about 45 mins / hour away and I would have saved about $50 minus gas/time plus I would have had to cut the pieces or have them cut for extra $$

I came real close to buying a couple of sets of those, but ended up just making some.  How much were they?  If I remember correctly they weren't that much.

A guy that works for my wife is getting out of woodworking and this was his last big tool to sell. New (to me) tool day!!! the whole thing cost me $1k even. Now I gotta binge YouTube and start reading the books to figure out how to use it haha.

You'll be super happy with that set up bud!  @Chethas something very similar and it's super nice!  Probably the best fence in the game!

Enjoy!

I have been binge watching videos on it, it seems so simple to use too once you get the hang of the basics. Plus all the dove tail /box joint setups ... its like this should have been what the leigh DT jig should have been. Not a 2 hour study session every time I want to use it lol

Great find.  I really like mine, I really like the micro adjust for setting up things.  I often think about getting the fence for the table saw because of that feature and how easy it makes it to return to an exact fence location.

With the slotted inserts the dust collection is top notch with the exception of pattern routing, which I think is always going to be a little messy no matter the setup.

When you are cranking the lift up or down and it starts to feel like it is binding, just take the lift out and clean all the threaded parts.

Still working on this dang garage 🤣 …

So the test one I built last summer or so finally rotted away … talking with my brother in law, we decided to go full on muffler for this beast!

the inside… (the wooden circle block is halfway down) F4375FAB-A629-40DE-8804-F0F264E6D615.thumb.jpeg.c4941e55f2f9d2ed306f698bc68fbe87.jpeg

this is where we put the bed foam, just forgot to take a picture.. it’s tacky sprayed in there..

the crazy part was running the CnC and then putting your ear to the hole … it was a valley of nothingness coming through it. Crazy feeling when you expected some noise …

should have decibel readings maybe tomorrow or early next week.

Very interesting!

This is still on my "to do" list!  I'm thinking of some major changes on my DC wall as well which will give me the excuse to go after this project..

Difference between yours and mine is that the muffler would be on the inside of my building.

Decided to go horizontal with it to basically keep the kids from hitting it with balls or running into it … I’ll check back next summer for a cleaning and see how much dust settled in there because of this orientation…

Overall sooooo dang happy with this upgrade. The outside hvac unit is louder than this now which is just crazy …

Total Numbers: (decibels)

Inside Garage (about 20') - In/Out - 78 to 74

Outside at exhaust - Old/New - 112 to 85

Outside - 10' away - Old/New - 81 to 61

Outside - 30' away - Old/New - 73 to 58

Your numbers have really got me thinking!

Your numbers after the muffler are amazing!  I know this was ultimately what you were going for.

The number inside has me concerned on my project!  That's a lot of work for a 4db drop in the area where I'm looking for it.

Regardless, awesome job!  Thanks also for posting the results, this helps me formulate my ideas for my DC/Noise issue..
