Cushions are in! Was a felt like forever wait for them but was less than 6 weeks. Happy with how it turned out! Now if only the kids would let me sit in it.

Couldn’t you cut them on your cnc?

It is very disappointing to hear all these issues with pm. I have a 66 saw that I absolutely love and haven’t had an issue. Knock on wood. Is there a company out there that would be a go to for quality without seriously ripping open the wallet? Is Harvey it? I know felder has been around a long time but they come with a price, also don’t see many ever hit the used market.

I don’t know how you find the time to film and be in the shop! Thank you for all you do!

Option 2 is the way I would go. Have done that method on my dining room table and it came out well.

That is a poor representation of what those saws can do. With decent blade in them they cut like a hot knife through butter, the head of the saw is so heavy that it just drops right through. With the angle that the blade enters the cut its pushing the wood down which holds it for you. They are an absolute treat to use. Only thing that cuts faster and cleaner are upcut saws.

The cabinet shop I worked at had an omga miter saw, thing was an absolute beast! 3 phase set on a dedicated cabinet with a sweet fence. We never used it for cutting a miter and was primarily used for cutting face frame and door parts. Had a 12" blade with around a 5 inch cut capacity. Was deadly square and we just put a clamp on the switch to leave it running while using.

I think I would copy the guys and mouth them to the garage door.

Thanks for the great answers. Its almost like fate or the internet listens to me. Acme tool sent an email this morning with $75 off on Milwaukee. The tracks they offer are 31, 55, and 106" I was leaning towards getting the 31 and possibly the 55 to start with. One thing I forgot about is using the track saw as a helper to the jointer. Great point. Where I do the bulk of my sheet break down is on my outfeed table and I dont have any sort of dust collection hook up for smaller tools there. Planning on using the bag which I know wont be perfect but will still be better than just an old circular saw. How fine of blade do you guys run on your saws?

I have a simple panel sled I use quite a bit. Cheap, ugly and easy. Just like me!

Looking at getting the Milwaukee track saw. Main reason is that I am already in their battery system. 1. The tracks.....if cutting plywood do you need to clamp the track down? Will more than likely be cutting on a piece of foam insulation. 2. What length of track do you recommend? They offer a 31 and a 55 I believe. 3. Is a track saw and track setup worth it? Currently have a circular saw that I have a homemade so called track for. Works ok, has to be clamped down to be used.

Thanks for all the great info! The main reason that I have been reluctant to try these types of products is for the durability. I currently use a pre-cat lacquer which is a pita to deal will. Looking for something that doesn't stink the shop up for days on end. I'm going to have to try these out.

Would you be willing to set a sweating glass of water on them and see how they react? My concerns with those types of finish is like on a coffee table that gets a glass left on it.

Chair and ottoman are finished! Took the chair down to a upholstery shop, the same guy who did the seats on my dining chairs. He was excellent! Took time to web the seat frame while I was there and fitted the pads in the cushions. He has been doing this type of work for 45 years and was so helpful! Took Courtney and the girls along to help pick out the fabric. Decided on a leather looking product that he recommended with a reddish brown color. Will post a picture when the seats come in. This project kinda took me by surprise with the level of difficulty. Looking at it initially seemed straight forward and not to involved. Boy was I wrong! By no means is it perfect but I’m happy with the results.

I always buy mine at the local farm supply store, 3" locking the last time I got them were around $11 each. Havent had an issue with any of them.

I know my limitations! I cant even wrap a Christmas present, so I'm going to leave this to the professionals. There is a old boy in a neighboring town who has been doing upholstery work for longer than I have been alive. He did the seats for our dining room chairs and I will have him do the morris chair as well.
